Shotgun

This picture was taken just hours ago at the peak of the shotgun trail. This was my 1st attempt at reaching the top and fortunately was able to do so without going for a pit stop. I had originally planned merely to ride 'The Wall' trail toward timberland heights since I knew I was just relatively a newbie at mountain biking. However, a conversation I had with a fellow bike enthusiast while checking out some of the goods being sold by one of the vendors at the base changed my mind. This bloke discouraged me from trying to ride the shotgun trail since it was too difficult for the likes of me.  I took it as a challenge to try the trail. An hour later, I was at the top.

Lesson learned - The only way to really know your limits is to test yourself. A familiar sentence, often times read, but seldomly done.
